1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
Where do I start?! Okay, I love the toilet paper wars we used to have as freshmen. Also, I remember the first time Chris hung out at our apartment. The two of you talked to each other for a couple of hours about Pinky and the Brain and Monte Pithon. We knew you were meant to be then.:) How about the time we all dressed up? I will also always associate cheese and Tevas with you. Anyway, you were also one of the nicest roommates I've had - always letting me use your computer all night to do assignments at the last minute and letting me wear all your cool Eddie Bauer polos (sorry I was such a user).
ReplyDeleteWho can forget the Baby-Sitters Club fiasco? :) I remember always picking up where we left off, too. I also remember we liked to match our outfits. We made sure that our clothes and hair were always similar. If you were wearing pig tails, I was wearing pig tails. If you had a pony tail on the side of your head, III had a pony tail on the side of my head.
ReplyDeleteDressing up and lip-singing to "Out of Touch", Mo-Tab Choir commercials with bonus "warm-up"!, dressing up in scrubs and "throwing up" shaving cream, you and heather dancing to Air Supply and pretending to run out of air after making a breakfast that only a domestic hero could make....ah, the list could go on, and should!!
Ok, I have not posted this yet because there are so many dear memories that I could write about. I had the pleasure of spending my formative high school years with Allison and I have her to thank for my adolescent survival.
ReplyDeleteI just can't list all the memories. There are too many and I think you and I both know I could go on for pages. I guess if I had to list one memory, though, it would be your wedding day. Silly, right? I mean after all we went through in high school? You were so beautiful and so happy on that day and I was so honored to be a part of it. And, to know that your marriage to Chris is still as strong today as it was on that day, makes me even happier.
Allison, you are, and will always be the most important friend in my life.
Oh, and the time we stayed in that hotel room in Sicily that was straight out of the Partridge Family!
Oh my gosh, there are so many to pick from!!! And it helps that i was JUST reading my journal from Ricks (I found it the other day while looking for something else). So...
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout freshman year when we had pysch together (with marilee) right after lunch. We'd all eat in the cafeteria, then pretend we were ditching class and going to do something else and we'd go our seperate ways, just for you and I to meet up at class because we actually wanted to pass the dang thing. heh.
I also remember sitting with you in your apartment, a whole ton of people were there, and you had the phone on speaker and we all heard Chris open his mission call and you were SO excited! not that anyone could blame you. ;0
i have a picture of you and Chris waiting in the Kirkham. We were all there for a John Bytheway concert, but his plane was late so he was late so everyone just hung out for like an hour before he ran on stage and tuned his guitar right there.
remember going door to door at harmony house, asking if marilee had moved in there, then convincing some lady in the admissions building to tell us if she was even registered for school for sophomore year/
I remember Monty Python ("Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!") and watching movies and using your computer for email (and your account... I was ayoung3!!) and just all around having fun at your apartment because my roommate situation was, ummm, interesting. :)
Do you remember when we all wore a shirt of Chris' on the same day?? Remember when we were quarantined for having guys in our dorm after hours, and all the funny notes they sent us in church that week to tease and torment us? The fun FHE night "heart attacking" our bishop, you did the ward bulletins each week, and you were the only person I knew who had Doc Martens in colors besides black or brown! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay Allie I don't have as many memories of you as your roommates and friends but I think my favorite memory of you is when we were planning our family vacation to Cancun and my dad was scheduling "spontaneous time" or something like that. He was talking about how much fun we were going to have - when you added "Damn it!" It was hilarious mostly because you pegged my dad better than any of us ever could have done.
