Random Thoughts Thursday

If you're new to Random Thoughts Thursday, click here for details!

It's May.  I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be able to see my breath outside anymore.

It was fun the other day to discover that my lab partner in microbiology has the same birthday as me.  It was not so fun to realize that I was in high school when she was born.

Was it really that long ago that I was in high school?  Oh, man.

Lexi was just sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore.  It was a very happy moment.  And also a little bit in-your-face at her sister, who's in Ravenclaw.

I think it's my turn to bring treats to my book club tonight.  If not, well, we'll have a lot of treats.

Hanging out with 6th grade girls is an interesting trip down memory lane.  There are some things that I guess will never, ever change.

The other day, completely out of the blue, Ellie said, "Am I the only normal one in this family?"

My kids have finally found a show to watch that doesn't make me want to gouge out my eyeballs and set fire to my eardrums.  Whoever came up with Phineas & Ferb is a genius.

I've had a tune running through my head all day, and I just now figured out that it's from the Veggie Tales episode "Lyle, the Kindly Viking".  Weird.

Your turn!

  1. Tell Lexi I said "hi! and welcome to the esteemed house of Grydffdor!" I was so sure I would be a Hufflepuff. My nephew Jack is and I am going to get him a Hufflepuff banner to put over his bed:) Phineas and Ferb is the ONLY cartoon I can watch without feeling like I am slowly dying inside. But beware..the theme song gets stuck in your head.."104 days of summer vacation.." :)

  3. This was a fantastic post! Your girls deserve some credit for providing such grest material. I haven't ever seen Phineas and Ferb. What channel is it on? I would love a show that didn't make me want to scream, cry or leave the room.

    1. Em, I think it's a Nick show, but we watch it on Netflix. It really is funny. Chris even laughs at it, and you know how he is about TV.
